Florence is well-known as the crib of Renaissance, but the city is the home of all times art, linking the past and the present artwise. For those who enjoy modern and contemporary art, we have good news: the second section of Roberto Casamonti Collection is now opened to the public, with masterpieces from the late 1960s to the present day, from Alighiero Boetti to Anselm Kiefer, to Jean-Michel Basquiat, from Jannis Kounellis to Tony Cragg, to Bill Viola, to Marina Abramovich, just to name a few.
The place itself is a work of art: it is located on the Piano Nobile of Palazzo Bartolini Salimbeni, a Renaissance architectural masterpiece by Baccio d’Agnolo, and it holds one of the major collections of modern and contemporary art open to the public in Italy.
Since the spring 2018, the Roberto Casamonti Collection could already be visited, but only the first section, with works from 1919.
