In our property, all the food is short chain, as we work with local business as Palagiaccio, San Gimignano Beer, La Collina di Arturo for jams, the l’Antica Spezieria delle Monache Benedettine for the bitter orange marmalades, the Ballerini patisserie for the brioche, the Michelangelo for the bread, as well for our wines that come from Tuscan farms such as Colognole, Diadema e Frescobaldi, just to name a few. We also are proud to prepare our cakes every morning with fresh, biological products.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Actually we have been certified by Tripadvisor as an Eco Leader property, and we are going to tell you why. When it comes to energy consumption, we count on energy consumption monitoring, towel and sheet reuse program, waste recycling, staff training on ecological initiatives, just to name a few initiatives. Plus, all the lights are LED, with energy-saving lighting controls in common areas: the sensors automatically turn off the lights when they are not needed and there are sensors also to regulate the temperature when there are no guests in the rooms.

And there’s more! We also have more than 90% biodegradable toiletries, over 50% of our cleaning products are “eco” certified, and up to 75% of the furniture has eco-friendly characteristics.

As far as our plants are concerned, they are typical of the region and are treated with the minimum use of herbicides, pesticides and other chemical products. And regarding the objects left behind by guests who don’t want them shipped back home, after 6 months they are donated to charity, finding a new use for those who need it most.
