Tuscany is recognized worldwide for its handicrafts and since 1930 MIDA, the International Handicraft Exhibition in Florence, has existed to enhance and promote handicrafts and individual artisans.
In addition to being able to admire 100% Made in Italy products, you can buy them, which is quite rare at events like this. You can usually get to know the products and later contact the artisan to make the purchase. But at this fair, there is a wide range of products on hand.
You can also watch artisans working live, participate in labs, guided tours, exhibitions, cooking classes and courses. Not to mention the beauty of Fortezza da Basso, with its unique architecture – built in the first half of the 1500s, to ensure the control of the city by the Medici – and well-kept gardens.
The 2020 edition, at the end of April 2020, will consolidate the offered products through quality, sustainability and innovation criteria. The event is divided into several areas and the full program is available on the MIDA website.
