Until January 8, 2023, Florence will be illuminated by the Green Line, the new name given to the old F-Light that traditionally decorates the city during the holidays with video projections, installations and workshops dedicated to the world of light, involving the city from the center to the suburbs.
This new edition will have as its central theme the four natural elements – air, water, earth, and fire -, the man-nature relationship and the connection between heritage and good care. The difference to previous years is that Green Line will be bigger: it will add new content to large light installations, moving also to active citizenship sites and museums to offer reflections related to mandatory topics such as ecology, sustainability, climate change, energy saving.
In addition to the lights – which were reduced precisely for environmental reasons in this edition – the program was enriched with the large thematic forum Climate Change and Heritage, as well as two exhibitions, the first in the Sala d’Arme of Palazzo Vecchio and the second in the Marino Marini Museum; in addition to a series of interventions by artists, specially commissioned for the event. A festival dedicated to reducing the energy burden, but also to increasing conceptual and emotional quality.
