Antonella
Restaurant: Il Barretto
The first thing that strikes you is the intimate and refined atmosphere, which perfectly balances elegance and warmth. I recommend the penne strascicate alla fiorentina, an extraordinary ragù!
Diletta
Restaurant: Enoteca de’Giusti
This is my favorite place to eat well and spend a pleasant time. My starting point is wine: when I choose a restaurant, it has to be a place where I feel comfortable with the wine because they have a good selection and excellent knowledge of the product. Here I find all that. High-quality ingredients in a modern setting that doesn’t forget tradition.
My favorite dishes are the paté di fegatini served with crispy bread drizzled with extra virgin olive oil—outstanding, awakening all the taste buds—and the warm potato and cheese soufflé with diced ham, served hot and steaming. What can I say? Of course, all of this is expertly paired with top-notch wines. The same owners also manage Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina in Piazza Pitti, which I believe has the same menu, but I’ve never tried it because of the much smaller space, though it has a splendid terrace overlooking Palazzo Pitti.
Ferdinando
Restaurant: Tratttoria Il Cibreino
With its Florentine soul, this restaurant always offers seasonal traditional dishes and an excellent wine cellar, also predominantly featuring regional wines. Impeccable and professional service, not easy to find in many other places in the city.
Gabriele
Restaurant: Trattoria Mario
A Florentine trattoria in the heart of the San Lorenzo district, frequented by both Florentines and well-informed tourists or those passing through. Homestyle cooking with fresh and genuine ingredients. I recommend the beef filet, simply because the meat is excellent and perfectly cooked!
Marco
Restaurant: Libreria Brac
A bookstore dedicated to contemporary arts, a space for thought devoted to consuming both art and food. I love the philosophy behind it: nourishing yourself with information and dishes, ideas, and experiences to enhance knowledge and sensitivity toward an ever-expanding art capable of leaving profound marks. A restaurant suitable for those who cannot eat gluten or want to stay fit while eating deliciously and drinking even better. If you have a husband/wife, lover, boyfriend/girlfriend, or friend who’s a bit “difficult,” this place will turn your day around. I recommend the Sunday brunch dishes.
Maria Rita
Restaurant: Trattoria Roberto – They don’t even have a website or social media, yet they rank among the best restaurants in Florence on Tripadvisor!!!
This is my favorite restaurant for various reasons:
- Alessandro was my classmate and the undisputed genius of the school, so his “intelligence” is reflected in his restaurant;
- The restaurant has always belonged to his family and is one of the last restaurants in the city center where the management is truly “family-run;
- The ingredients are personally selected by the chef, his father Franco;
- You’ll find many Florentines dining here, which is always a guarantee of excellent cuisine!
I recommend the fish at this special place.
Mika
Restaurant: Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco
My special dish is the onion flan with cheese béchamel and fresh truffle. It has a very soft texture and is light, despite being made with béchamel, disappearing the moment it touches your mouth. The flavor of the truffle and onions pleasantly satisfies the palate.
Michele
Our Michele loves to remind us that, for him, nothing can compete with the flavors of his own home. “No place compares to how well we eat at home,” he says with a smile, highlighting how unique and irreplaceable the pleasure of a meal prepared with love and tradition truly is.
