Florentine summers are warm, but Florence becomes extraordinarily magical during this season. The city slows its pace: many Florentines head to the coast, and the historic center transforms into a treasure chest of quiet corners, suspended atmospheres, and slower moments to be savored at leisure.
At the Tower, we embrace this more intimate side of the city. From our terraces, perched high above Florence, fiery sunsets seem even closer, while the evening breeze makes every moment pleasantly warm. The air is filled with the fragrance of jasmine, roses, and Mediterranean aromatic herbs that we cultivate and use both in the cuisine of our restaurant and in the signature cocktails served at TornaBuono Bar.
The sun as the main character
The sun is the true protagonist of the Florentine summer. Throughout the day, it floods the Tower’s rooms with light, illuminating the historic frescoes and revealing details, colors, and shades that continuously change with the shifting daylight.
The early morning hours offer one of the most enchanting experiences of the day: breakfast on the Salotto Sonoro terrace, where the first rays of sunlight gently caress the city’s rooftops and Florence awakens with elegance and tranquility.
During the hottest hours, guests can enjoy a light lunch or a moment of relaxation on the Duomo Terrace, taking in the panoramic views from the comfort of our air-conditioned Winter Garden, designed to provide maximum comfort without sacrificing the beauty of the scenery.
A cinematic setting
As the sun begins to set, Florence is bathed in shades of red and gold. From the Arno Terrace, the sun slowly descends over the river, creating an almost cinematic scene, best enjoyed with a Sunset Cocktail in hand and the gentle evening breeze drifting through the city.
And then comes the magic of the night. At times, the melodies of street musicians rise all the way to our terraces, accompanying dinner at Ristorante TornaBuono or a simple moment of quiet after the meal, lingering over a dessert, an amaro, and the lights of Florence sparkling beneath the summer sky.
