Heritage Walks are an invitation to uncover the less popular areas of the historic center, architectures, views, and highly suggestive stories of Florence, and to deepen your knowledge of the city, urban fabric, and landscape areas that contribute to the Outstanding Universal Value of the site. It&#8217;s no wonder that the Historic Center of Florence was included in UNESCO&#8217;s World Heritage List; after all, the city is an open-air museum, a masterpiece that continues to enchant residents and visitors for centuries.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the well-known monuments and streets lies a perimeter still marked by gates, towers, fortresses, and the walls of Oltrarno &#8211; preserved almost entirely, by the way &#8211; and this is the starting point for the Heritage Walks itineraries: the route to the north of the city, around Porta San Gallo &#8220;New Tracks of Ancient Relations&#8221;; the one to the south, along the walls of Oltrarno &#8220;Rethinking the Margin&#8221;; the one around San Miniato al Monte.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the schedule for the program in May, in Italian (11 a.m.) and English (3 p.m.):<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>May 25th, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.: Around San Gallo<\/p>\n<p>May 26th, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.: Towards San Miniato<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tours are intended for young and adult participants; they are free and last for two hours. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes and bring water.
