Florence has always been a cradle of art \u2014 and inside our rooms, this heritage is renewed and reinterpreted with respect and creativity. The walls recall the splendor of noble Florentine residences, with floral patterns, that represent one of the most fascinating and versatile artistic expressions in the history of art, ranging from the essential style of medieval paintings to the rich intertwining vines and clusters typical of later periods.<\/p>\n

In the Middle Ages, wall decorations served a primarily symbolic and spiritual purpose. Frescoes and wall paintings were often characterized by a stylized simplicity, featuring essential vegetal motifs and geometric lines that reflected divine order. Flowers and plants were not depicted realistically but rather as stylized decorative elements, often framed in ornamental bands or small marginal sections of frescoes. The stylized flower motif was common in the interiors of Romanesque and Gothic churches, used to enrich capitals, arches, and vaults.<\/p>\n

Over the centuries, decorative tastes evolved to include more elaborate details, especially during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Wall decorations began to feature more complex vegetal motifs, such as grapevines, grape clusters, and intertwined flowers, symbolizing abundance and fertility.
