Discover the poetic world of Ottone Rosai at the Museo Novecento in Florence.
Until October 4, 2026, the exhibition “Ottone Rosai. Poeta innanzitutto” brings together, for the first time, works from the Rosai Bequest and the Alberto Della Ragione Collection, creating a unique journey through the artist’s vision.
Through portraits of friends, intellectuals, and everyday figures, alongside deeply personal views of Florence, Rosai reveals a city that is both real and interior, shaped by friendships, ideas, and shared experiences.
The exhibition also highlights the connection with Georg Baselitz, a great admirer of Rosai since discovering his work during his first stay in Florence in 1965.
A beautiful opportunity to explore the artistic and cultural soul of Florence in the 20th century.

After eight years of closure, including one year of restoration works, the Scalone Lorenese has reopened to the public at the Uffizi Galleries.
This is the grand staircase that leads visitors into the museum’s exhibition route, originally conceived by Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo in the 18th century.
The reopening is also a celebration: the staircase has been carefully restored and reinstalled exactly as it appeared when the Grand Duke opened it to the general public for the first time on June 24, 1769, placing the museum among the very first in the world to adopt a modern concept.
A true masterpiece of Neoclassical architecture, now once again ready to be admired. Unmissable!

We are used to seeing the Basilica di Santa Croce from Piazza Santa Croce, with its façade in white, green, and pink marble. But this architectural wonder has many other facets.
This shot by @cittadifirenzeufficiale is an example of how Santa Croce’s architecture is rich in history and details.
If you walk around the church, you will discover a completely different face of the basilica.
This side reveals the original medieval structure, begun in 1294 and traditionally attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio. The austere stone walls, the soaring Gothic lancet windows and the polygonal apse belong to the authentic 14th-century church built by the Franciscans.
The famous marble façade that everyone photographs today was added much later, in the 19th century.
Sometimes, in Florence, all it takes is walking around the corner to travel back six centuries.

When people think of the Cascine area, they often imagine just the green park. And yes, the Parco delle Cascine is one of the city’s most important lungs — but this side of Florence is much more than that.
Here, a true contemporary cultural hub has emerged, with the Manifattura Tabacchi taking center stage.
Opened in the 1930s as an industrial complex for tobacco production, it was for decades a symbol of work and modernity. Today, the former rationalist warehouses have been transformed into creative studios, cultural events, design spaces, gastronomy spots, and innovation hubs — giving new life to what was once factory floors.
And it doesn’t stop there. Just a few steps away is Polimoda, one of Italy’s most prestigious fashion schools, reinforcing the area’s creative and international vocation.
What was once an industrial outskirts is now a laboratory of the future. A side of Florence that surprises, and deserves to be discovered with fresh eyes.
