We’ve already talked about the exhibition Rothko in Florence at palazzostrozzi, but we’d like to recommend an extension of this experience that will stimulate all your senses.
But first, a bit of history: in 1971, the Rothko Chapel opened in Houston, Texas. The space, originally conceived to house 14 paintings by Mark Rothko, later inspired composer Morton Feldman, whose work Rothko Chapel (1971) echoes the atmosphere and presence of Rothko’s paintings.
Now you have the opportunity to listen to this composition in the Sacristy of Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, transformed into a listening room through the exhibition Resonance.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity!

Have you ever walked along Via Torta in the district of Santa Croce?
It lies between Piazza dei Peruzzi and Borgo dei Greci and, as its name suggests, it is “twisted”.
But this was not an urban planning mistake. The street follows the outline of an elliptical amphitheatre built by the Romans between 124 and 130 AD.
Over the centuries, the amphitheatre gradually became part of the city’s architecture. The outer walls turned into the foundations of houses and palaces.
The Roman arches, known as fornices, were closed and incorporated into medieval façades. The seating tiers became structural bases.
Via Torta has this unusual curve because the Roman walls were still standing when the street was created, and the city simply grew around them.
Even today, on the side of Piazza dei Peruzzi, you can see regular arched openings in the façades. Some scholars believe these were once the entrances to the arena, later walled up and forgotten for centuries.

✨ Florence is ready to celebrate Scoppio del Carro 2026!
On April 5th, the city revives this ancient Easter tradition that blends faith, history, and folklore.
It’s a spectacular ritual that has roots dating back to the First Crusade and the legendary Pazzino dei Pazzi.
Here’s the program:
🕯️ April 4th – The vigil begins: the historic procession moves from Palagio di Parte Guelfa to the Church of Santi Apostoli, ending with the blessing and lighting of the new fire at the Duomo.
🚩 April 5th – Easter morning: the Brindellone departs at 7:30 am, escorted by oxen and the historic cortege. Highlights include the Bandierai degli Uffizi (8:10 am), the Calcio Storico Fiorentino draw (9:45 am), and at 11 am, during the “Gloria”, the Colombina sparks the fireworks on the cart — a wish for prosperity for all Florence!
Unmissable! 🔥✨

The beauty of Antica Torre Tornabuoni knows no borders.
We are delighted to see our historic Florentine tower featured in a Korean lifestyle magazine, a reminder that the charm of Florence can travel far beyond Italy.
It is amazing to realize that our history resonates on the other side of the world!
And don’t worry — you don’t need to speak Korean to understand how incredible our property is. Sometimes beauty, history, and atmosphere speak a universal language 😉
